Emanuel C. De Guzman is the 12th president of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.[1] De Guzman finished his Bachelor of Science in Sociology at the same university in 1993 and earned his Master of Arts in Sociology at Ateneo de Manila University in 2001. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Manchester in 2008.
As the president, De Guzman is the principal executive officer of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He oversees the university's policy implementation, guides the institution towards the realization of its vision-mission, as well as monitor and administer the overall affairs of the university, including its three major functions - instruction, research and community extension services.
De Guzman's vision is Clearing the path while laying new foundations to transform the Polytechnic University of the Philippines into an epistemic community.
